How to grow and prune fruit trees from a rootstock

Hey everyone!! Great forum! I found this insanely well done fruit tree pruning and planting tutorial.

I’d do a few things different and also had a question about what changes in his advice if the tree purchased is larger than the 5-10 gallon he had.

What I’d do different

  1. Less soil amendment (but that’s dependent on soil health in your yard)
  2. Add more mulch! I personally do 6-12” to start, keeping it away from the trunk.
  3. I do soil treatment on fresh planted trees such as fish emulsion or seaweed and also add michrorozae to the hole
